Back to the Future

Almost six years ago when we opened our newly built office, we designed for current technology but planned for future technology. We made a commitment then to be as digitally oriented as possible in our state-of-the-art facility. We are happy to announce that the future has arrived.

We recently installed a Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) unit into the office. We now have the ability to utilize 3D images for diagnostic and treatment planning purposes. It is an exciting step forward as we are capable of diagnosing pathology such as infections, root fractures, root canal lesions, bone loss, and airway obstructions. We can see third molar impactions, nerve pathways, sinuses, and use the images to improve the precision of the placement of implants and the restorations that are placed over them.

The most amazing part of this technology is our ability to merge this data with data from our CEREC machine. We have utilized the CEREC for over ten years allowing us to perform single visit crowns by designing and fabricating them in house. By marrying both the CEREC and the CBCT technology we can now also fabricate most implant cases the same way. The quality of these restorations has been beautiful and delivery time is typically much shorter.
